Overview of the Department of Mathematics Sciences
The Department of Mathematics was established with the founding of the Faculty of Science in 1975. The department is equipped with three lecture halls, each with a data show, and it also has three computer labs with modern computing devices.
The department consists of four sections: the Mathematics Section, the Mathematics and Computer Science Section, the Statistics and Computer Science Section, and the Physics and Computer Science Section.
The department has approximately 55 faculty members, including 8 assistant professors and 11 teaching assistants.
In addition to teaching in the Faculty of Science, the Department of Mathematics also teaches in the following colleges within the university: Engineering, Applied Arts, Education, Fine Arts, Home Economics, Computer Science and Information Systems, and Social Work.
The Department of Mathematics offers Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science.
