Department Head's Speech
The Department of Curricula and Instruction Methods at the Faculty of Education, Helwan University, seeks to prepare distinguished teachers who possess the necessary skills and professional ethics to qualify them to practice the teaching profession competently. This is achieved through undergraduate and graduate programs, in collaboration with other relevant faculties and academic departments, which also provide them with specialized information, concepts, and skills that complement their educational preparation.
This is accomplished through a distinguished group of faculty members from all disciplines. The Department of Curricula and Instruction Methods is distinguished by its diverse educational programs, including the preparation of primary school teachers, middle and secondary school teachers in all specialties, special education teachers, and teachers in technical, industrial, and commercial secondary schools.
The department's academic program also includes distinguished graduate programs that prepare graduates for the job market. These programs include: a specialized preparation program in training and human development programs, a program for preparing Arabic language teachers for non-native speakers, a program for preparing teachers to work in schools for the gifted (STEAMM), and a program for preparing teachers to work in schools and comprehensive integration classes for people with special needs. The department also contributes to achieving the college's vision, mission, and objectives by cooperating with the Ministry of Education to implement the practical education program, which the department oversees. The department is also committed to achieving continuous professional development for faculty members and participating in producing distinguished scientific research related to current educational issues. The department also works to activate community service efforts in cooperation with the college administration.
The department believes that the only way to advance society and achieve comprehensive development efforts is through focusing on preparing teachers as implementers of the curriculum, educators, guides, leaders, mentors, and role models.
We ask God Almighty to guide us all to what is good and right, so that Egypt may attain the cultural status commensurate with its history and human wealth.
